How you'll contribute

Provides direct and indirect patient care in the office/clinic setting. Maintains regulatory requirements, nursing and office/clinic policies, procedures and standards. Communicates with physicians and team members about patient's clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.

Qualifications and requirements

Required Skills-Certifications:

• Current American Heart Association BLS certificate or obtained within 90 days after hire date
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Essential Functions

• Obtains patient history, reason for visit, vital signs, height, weight, smoking status, allergies and current medications on all patient visits.
• Performs EKG's, ear irrigations, draws injections accurately and administer correctly, administers medications (topical, oral, or injection) correctly. Collects and labels specimens properly and sends to appropriate designated lab.
• Assists in scanning documents, answering phones, scheduling appointment, taking messages, calling prescriptions or any other duties that will help with efficiency of the office.
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient protecting the patient's rights.
