How you'll contribute
A Maintenance Mechanic II who excels in this role:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hospital infrastructure, critical systems, and clinical equipment to support a safe, functional care environment.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and medical support systems; escalate complex issues to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Respond promptly to service requests across patient care and support areas, prioritizing work that impacts patient safety, infection control, and staff operations.
- Maintain and service boilers, HVAC, and refrigeration systems to ensure proper temperature, air quality, pressure relationships, and regulatory compliance.
- Support compliance with Life Safety Code and Environment of Care standards, assisting with inspections, documentation, and readiness activities.
- Perform general facility repairs, including patient rooms and clinical areas (e.g., beds, carts, lighting, drywall, and finishes), ensuring minimal disruption to care delivery.
- Safely operate and maintain tools and equipment, including power tools and grounds/snow removal equipment, to ensure facility accessibility and safety.
- Follow all safety protocols, infection prevention measures, and HIPAA requirements while maintaining accurate maintenance records and work documentation.
- Promote a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement, supporting team training, regulatory readiness, and high-quality patient care environments.

What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in facilities, healthcare, or a related environment.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills with the ability to assess situations and make sound, timely decisions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
- Proven ability to perform effectively in high-pressure or fast-paced environments, taking appropriate action when needed.
- Valid state driver's license in good standing.
- Technical knowledge or certification in at least one skilled trade area (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or boiler systems).
- Working knowledge of building systems, equipment maintenance, and repair practices, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and maintaining a reliable environment that supports patient care.
