Position Summary:
Manages the daily operations of the assigned department or function to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. This role is responsible for leadership of staff, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of professional growth while supporting the organization's strategic goals and continuum of care.
Reports to: Market Director of Physician Services
FLSA: Exempt
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field required (applicable experience may be considered in lieu of education)
Experience:
Relevant leadership and operational experience in a healthcare or business office setting preferred
Required Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage staff performance, engagement, and conflict resolution
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance (e.g., HIPAA)
- Proficiency in business operations, budgeting, and vendor management
- Ability to analyze complex problems and implement effective solutions
- Project management and organizational skills
- Moderate to advanced computer skills (email, spreadsheets, presentations, databases)
- Ability to motivate, influence, and guide teams
Essential Functions:
- Develops departmental goals, standards, and objectives aligned with organizational strategy
- Manages staff relations including hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and corrective action
- Oversees payroll, recruitment, and staff development activities
- Monitors departmental budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships
- Ensures regulatory compliance and adherence to policies and procedures
- Evaluates and justifies equipment, systems, and supply needs
- Oversees inventory and ensures proper functioning of equipment
- Fosters a work environment that encourages professional growth and staff engagement
- Supports the department's role in the continuum of care
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance
- Performs additional duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly manages staff, including planning, assigning, and reviewing work
- Ensures quality and productivity standards are met
- Responsible for hiring, training, evaluating performance, and administering corrective action
Functional Demands:
- Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods
- Occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, and stair climbing
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
- Repetitive upper body motion for computer use
- Clear communication and adequate hearing and vision required
Work Environment & Travel Requirements:
- Office and hospital environment with routine exposure to standard equipment
- Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens, contagious illnesses, and hazardous materials
- Requires adherence to safety protocols and use of protective equipment as needed
- Noise level consistent with office/hospital settings
- Minimal travel required (up to 10%), including occasional overnight travel
