Position Summary:

Manages the daily operations of the assigned department or function to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives, regulatory compliance, and high-quality service delivery.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manages the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work to ensure quality standards are met. 
  • Responsible for hiring, training, performance management, corrective action, and staff development.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
Applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.
  • Ability to perform business mathematical functions including rates, ratios, percentages, and interpretation of graphs.
  • Moderate computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite and business systems.
  • Ability to communicate complex information effectively with staff and leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address varied and complex business issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including delegation and resource allocation.
  • Independent judgment in establishing goals and priorities for the department.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Assists in developing departmental goals, standards, and objectives aligned with the organization's strategic plan.
  • Manages staff relations, including performance management, engagement, and conflict resolution.
  • Oversees scheduling, recruitment, payroll processes, staff development, and student engagement activities.
  • Monitors departmental budgets, contracts, vendor relationships, and regulatory compliance.
  • Evaluates and justifies system, equipment, and supply purchases; monitors usage and functionality.
  • Coordinates and supports internal and external audits as applicable
  • Fosters an environment that encourages professional growth and accountability.
  • Ensures department alignment within the continuum of care.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment and Travel Requirements:

  • Work is performed in a well-lit, climate-controlled office and hospital environment. May be exposed to hospital-related hazards including bloodborne pathogens, contagious illnesses, chemicals, and biohazardous materials requiring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Noise level is typical for office and hospital settings.
  • Minimum overnight travel (up to 10%) may be required.
