Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant will perform routine clinical and administrative duties in support of the assigned area or office. Under the supervision of a physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
Documents patient care given.
Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
Maintains examination areas.
Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
Required Skills:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Minimum Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- A graduate of an accredited medical assistant program or equivalent is required.
Required Licenses/Certification:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within 60 days of hire.
- The following certifications are required CCMA, CMA, or RMA is required.
