Medical Assistant - Harris Pain Management

Location: Sylva, NC
Schedule: Full-time, Days (Monday-Friday)

The function of the Medical Assistant is to work alongside and assist Providers in the treatment of patients. Assists Providers with preparation and information documentation for the patient's visit including obtaining vitals, medical history, and other pertinent information from the patient. Prepares exam rooms for patients. Assists Providers with procedures as directed by the Provider. Assists with collection of lab samples. Documents all care and education in medical record.

This position will include travel and mileage reimbursement

What we're looking for
Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional requirements include:

  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.

  • 2 years of medical experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred

  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

  • Customer service skills a must. A service-oriented personality is required.

Preferred Qualifications

We will consider a Certified Nurse Assistant for this role, experience and certification required

Physical and environmental requirements
Extended periods of time sitting and walking, bending and stooping may be required. Ability to do repetitive work, keyboarding and writing. Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time. Has the ability to lift and move 25 pounds. Vision and hearing corrected to normal limits. Potential exposure to patients or other individuals who may be physically or verbally abusive.
