How you'll contribute 

As a Medical Office Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations and delivering an exceptional patient experience. Your contributions will include:

  • Provide comprehensive front office support, including scheduling and registering patients, verifying insurance, managing referrals and pre-certifications, and maintaining accurate electronic medical records.
  • Deliver professional, compassionate customer service while serving as the first point of contact and managing administrative duties such as filing, data entry, scanning, and incoming communications.
  • Post charges, code fee slips, collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances, and assist with end-of-day balancing and deposit preparation.
  • Review provider orders prior to patient departure and coordinate referral appointments to ensure continuity of care.
  • Obtain informed consent for invasive procedures and maintain compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and clinic policies.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked examination rooms and front office areas to support efficient clinic flow.
  • Monitor, reorder, stock, and troubleshoot medical supplies and equipment to minimize operational disruptions.

What we're looking for.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make timely decisions.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective in a fast-paced or high-stress healthcare environment.

  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.

  • Proficiency in computer applications and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, with a strong understanding of confidentiality and HIPAA standards.
