How you'll contribute
A OB Technician who excels in this role:
Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
Provides equipment and supplies based on patient needs as well as anticipates needs of surgeon; passes instruments to physician during surgery.
Practices aseptic technique; follows correct procedure for scrubbing prior to case.
Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
Performs patient registrations; verifies patient graphics and insurance information.
Enters patient, departmental and supply charges in computer system on all L&D patients prior to discharge as documented on Charge Sheets by the RN.
Provides clerical/secretarial support to department, i.e., makes up/assembles charts, ensures Physician order forms, progress notes and other forms are on charts.
Places patient labels as needed, breaks down discharge charts, sorts and files records, and maintains function of fax machine, printers, and copier.
Maintains established PAR levels and ensures appropriate supply and linen PAR levels are in OR suites and LDRs.
Notifies manager of low stock on special order items.
Checks supplies for outdated items and removes from stock.

What we're looking for- a dedicated individual with an understanding of patient care and a passion for the surgical environment. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work in a high-stakes, fast-paced setting, ensuring patient safety through meticulous attention to sterile technique and by assisting the surgical team with the highest level of professionalism and skill.
High school diploma or equivalent Required
Certification preferred
Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
One year of experience preferred
