SUMMARY

The Market People Services Generalist is responsible for enhancing department functions by planning, implementing and developing training, onboarding, and employee orientation programs, the administration of employee benefits, payroll administration, and answer employee questions regarding pay, benefits, policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The People Services Generalist assists in all day-to-day functions within the People Services department including but not limited to: 

  • Greeting people and answering the phones
  • Overseeing office supplies and materials
  • Coordinating engagement activities/event planning
  • Administration of Workers' Compensation
  • Provide regular assistance and follow-up to employee inquiries 
  • Handle pay related issues
  • Records management
  • Employee relations
  • AA/EEO compliance.
  • Develops human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information; recommending courses of action
  • Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution
  • Coaching and counseling managers and employees
  •  Perform other duties as assigned

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPLIANCE

  • Serves both internal team members and external customers, including clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.

  • Works with sensitive and confidential information and ensures adherence to applicable privacy and security standards.

  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA).

  • Applies organizational policies, procedures, and business office standards consistently and effectively.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • No supervisory responsibilities

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong business and quantitative skills, including the ability to analyze data, compute trends, and interpret workforce metrics.

  • Proficient computer skills, including regular use of email, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives.

  • Advanced communication skills with the ability to present complex information, address sensitive situations, and influence leaders at all levels. 

  • Demonstrated judgment and problem‑solving abilities in complex and varied situations affecting departmental operations. 

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously. 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate's degree in a related field preferred; applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of education. 

  • Previous People Services experience or related field preferred

 

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

This role involves typical office and healthcare environment conditions, including extended periods of sitting, computer use, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. Exposure to clinical environments and biohazards may occur, and up to 10% overnight travel may be required.
