How you'll contribute
The People Services Manager reports to and takes directions from the CEO and is responsible for all Human Resource functions within the hospital, including orienting and training employees. Also is responsible for employee relations and engagement, performance management, onboarding and worker's compensation. Ensures that all Human Resource practices meet the guidelines and specifications of all state and federal laws. This is a hands-on HR role with ownership of all facets of HR.
Qualifications and requirements
EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Business or related/relevant field of study.
EXPERIENCE:
- Position requires a high level of proficiency normally acquired through three or more years of progressively responsible work experience.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
PHR/SPHR Preferred but not required
Essential Functions:
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the facility's history, mission, services and organizational structure.
Work closely with management team to reduce turnover, increase employee engagement and promote the Core Values.
Partners with recruitment teams and attends job fairs and networks with regional employment agencies and schools to recruit highly qualified candidates to fill open positions.
Analyzes relevant market factors, including compensation packages and sign on bonuses and along with Director of Finance and CEO, ensures a fair and equitable merit process.
Assists in orienting and training all new employees. Responsible for creating and maintaining employee personnel, education and medical files.
Reports all workers compensation cases to insurance carrier and OSHA. Responsible for managing all aspects of workers compensation.
Responsible for employee evaluation process. Assists managers in completing and presenting these evaluations to employees.
Responds to all request for information from unemployment office and all other government agencies. Attends unemployment, workers compensation and EEO hearings when required.
Works directly with Managers with all employee issues. Is responsible to ensure that Hospital policies and procedures are adhered to and promoting an open door environment.
Ability to partner and understand business challenges facing their facility
Ability to translate those challenges into solutions
Ability to help design reporting to support metric accountability
Able to set goals and hold individuals accountable to delivering results in their designated area of responsibility
Coach and train leaders
Able to support the execution of enterprise projects such as culture surveys, compensation reviews, government surveys etc.
Knowledge of federal/state/local laws and regulations or comfortable seeking answers out
Responsible for ensuring location compliance of people services regulations
Supports litigation efforts
Responsible for supporting culture activities along with ER/LR partners
Performs other duties as assigned.
