How you'll contribute 

A pharmacy intern who excels in this role:

• Learns and develops necessary skills in the institutional setting that are needed to appropriately provide professional knowledge and tasks related to the pharmacy department to assure that the patients of the hospital receive the ultimate quality and safety in drug therapy.

• Learns how to interpret and evaluate all physician medication, IV admixture and TPN orders 

• Learns the appropriate process used in dispensing controlled substances as required by local, state, and federal laws and the standards as it pertains to the standards of good pharmacy practice 

• Learns how to appropriately compound and dispense medications from the pharmacy 

• Gains experience in clinical activities performed by the department under the supervision of the clinical manager

What we're looking for 
Applicants should be enrolled in a college of pharmacy and or enrolled in pre-pharmacy courses. Additional requirements include:

 Licenses: Must possess a current pharmacy intern license from the Board of Pharmacy that allows he/she to practice as an intern or be enrolled as a technician in training.
