Pharmacy Resident

Schedule: this is a full-time role that will work 40 hours/week. Shift times vary and this role could work day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts.

How you'll contribute

A Pharmacy Resident who excels in this role:

  • Manages drug therapy protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual drug related problems.
  • Provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, patients, and pharmacy students.
  • Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.
  • Evaluates medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry.
  • Checks for accuracy after filling by technicians.
  • Maintains adequate knowledge of pharmacy automated systems and computer software.
  • Accurately and appropriately issues controlled substances to patient care areas.
  • Corrects and attends to all discrepancies with controlled substances as required by law.

What we're looking for

Applicants should be enrolled in or be a graduate of an ACPE-accredited advance pharmacy degree program. Additional requirements include:

  • New Mexico pharmacist intern license for up to 90 days.
  • Pharmacist license in the State of New Mexico within 90 days of beginning their program.
