How you'll contribute
A Pharmacist who excels in this role:
- Manages drug therapy protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual drug related problems.
- Provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, and patients, and pharmacy students.
- Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.
- Evaluates medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry.
- Checks for accuracy after filling by technicians.
What we're looking for
Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree (required). Doctoral degree preferred. Additional requirements include:
- Pharmacist License in the state of Texas
- Experience with EHR (Meditech/Epic)
- CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI)
- Critical Thinking Skills, decisive judgement and ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
