How you'll contribute
Radiology Surgical Tech Position Summary
Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
Essential Functions
- Prepares the surgical suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies; ensures equipment and instruments are in good working order.
- Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
- Passes instruments to physicians during surgery and continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies.
- Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
- Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
- Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Patient Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.
Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record.
Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present.
Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; Graduate of a surgical technology program preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 6 months prior experience in another facility.
License: /Certifications: None required; BCLS preferred.
