Job Summary:
Receptionist provides administrative support, performs as a receptionist, as well as clerical and customer service functions, as well as non-technical duties in Practices or Departments. Responsible for managing front office duties for a multi-provider-based clinic and infusion therapy services.  Reports to: Office Manager/Supervisor or Dept Director

Essential Functions: 

  • Patient Registration, Patient Check-In/Out Procedures
  • Patient scheduling for Multiple Providers Office Visits, Infusion and lab appointments.  Attention to detail to schedule and coordinates with providers/staff to resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Greets patients and visitors, answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintain and update patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of all personal and medical information,
  • Medical Insurance knowledge, preferred.  Verify insurance information and follow all departmental processes/policy and procedures.
  • Organization and time management skills to multi-task while maintaining positivity with patients and their family.
  • Prepares and sending outgoing mail, distributing incoming mail, maintaining filing systems, correspondence, photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
  • Places, answers, and directs phone calls and distributes messages.
  • Keeps office area neat and tidy and monitors and orders office supplies.
  • Handles information requests, including reviewing files and records, answering inquiries, and responding to incoming work requests.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.
  • Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of CMC.
  • Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

Qualifications & Requirements:  

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. 
  • Associates Degree Preferred
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. 
  • Technological skills over multiple EMR and hospital-based platforms.
  • Organization and time management to manage a variety of tasks effectively.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
