Position Summary:
Provides administrative support and performs receptionist, clerical, and customer service functions, along with non-technical duties within practices or departments.
Reports To:
Office Manager/Supervisor or Department Director
FLSA Status:
Non-exempt
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate Degree preferred
Required Skills:
- Critical thinking skills
- Decisive judgment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
Essential Functions:
- Prepares statistical reports and performs clerical duties
- Handles incoming/outgoing mail and maintains filing systems
- Enters data and maintains databases
- Types correspondence and documents
- Performs photocopying, scanning, and faxing
- Greets visitors and communicates with patients, providers, and departments
- Answers, directs, and distributes phone calls and messages
- Schedules and coordinates meetings and appointments
- Maintains a clean and organized office environment
- Orders and monitors office supplies
- Handles information requests and responds to inquiries
- Coordinates workflow and compiles office activity records
- Performs basic accounting functions (e.g., invoices, deposits, petty cash where applicable)
Non-Essential Functions:
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-services, projects, and committees
- Adheres to and supports hospital policies and procedures
- Works scheduled shifts, including overtime when necessary
- Accepts call schedules as directed
- Maintains a neat and professional appearance per dress code
