How you'll contribute 

A Recreational Therapist who excels in this role:

• Perform evaluations and develop a treatment plan in conjunction with primary care counselor using therapeutic, recreational, and leisure activities.
• Conduct assessment and establish recreational therapy treatment goals and objectives to meet the individual needs of the patients.
• Pre-certifies patient care.
• Conduct ongoing reviews to authorize continued care.
• Evaluate each patient's progress and effectiveness of recreational therapy intervention.
• Formulate a goal-directed plan of care in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary treatment utilizing assessment date from the interdisciplinary assessment. 
• Update treatment plan weekly or more often as needed.
• Coordinate therapeutic recreation activities for both large and small groups to observe patient response and encourage socialization.
• Assist with development of discharge plan in timely and documented standards. 
• Provide patients and patient's family with information regarding leisure lifestyles and create awareness of recreational resources in their community.

What we're looking for
Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy. Additional requirements include:

• Therapeutic Recreational Therapist Certification.

• BLS required.

• Current Recreational Therapist license.

• One (1) year experience in recreational therapy in a hospital setting preferred
