More about our team 

Our Progressive Care/Intermediate Medical Care Unit is comprised of 30 beds with a 1:4 nurse to patient ratio. You will be playing a crucial role in making our community at Lake Havasu City healthier and will be part of a team with a positive and collaborative work environment. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively across disciplines to coordinate patient care as well as opportunity for growth and enhance your skills in critical care. In this position you will work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

 

 How you'll contribute 

Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

  • Provide appropriate care for patients moved from ICU to IMC, utilizing critical care skills and professionalism.

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment for Angio and Medical Surgery units in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. 

  • Develops nursing care plan in coordination with patient, family and interdisciplinary staff as necessary. 

  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.

  • May float to Med/Surg unit or ICU/ED if trained (experienced).

What we're looking for 

Applicants should have a current Arizona or Compact State RN license and possess an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science (BSN) preferred 

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year Med/Surg/Telemetry experience required; IMC/PCU or ICU experience preferred

  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required by completion of hospital orientation

  • Certification: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months of hire
