How you'll contribute

A Respiratory Therapist who excels in this role:

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment; monitor for and address potential side effects.
  • Administers ordered respiratory therapy treatments; understand indications, dosing parameters, and possible adverse effects.
  • Sets up and monitor mechanical ventilators; perform associated critical-care duties such as airway management and tracheal suctioning.
  • Assesses pain that interferes with function or rehabilitation participation and notify the physician for appropriate intervention.
  • Performs arterial punctures to obtain ABG samples; recognize potential complications and contraindications.
  • Performs EKGs, document/report results per department procedure, route to requesting providers, and file reports appropriately.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

     

 What we're looking for

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy 

  • Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist

  • CPR/BCLS certification. ACLS preferred.

  • Minimum three years of cardiopulmonary/respiratory care experience highly preferred.

  • Mechanical ventilation and airway management.
