Position Summary:
Provides computed tomography imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Manages time appropriately, determines priorities, follows chain of command.
Displays a positive attitude, respect, courtesy, and professionalism at all times.
Responds to patient/family requests in a timely manner to promote patient satisfaction.
Intervenes in a timely manner.
Maintains professional appearance, adheres to dress-code policy.
Works independently as well as a team member, assists co-workers and/or other departments / areas as needed.
Reviews/adheres to hospital/unit Policies and Procedures.
Responds to physician requests promptly, works proactively to provide department services or assistance.
Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
Assess factors that may contraindicate the procedure, such as medications, insufficient patient prep, pregnancy or artifacts.
Reviews the patient's chart and/or order and verifies physician request and appropriate diagnosis for exam.
Ensures procedural requirements are in place prior to the patient exam (aprons, contrast, fluoro, tray, supplies, etc).
Utilizes permanent markers on films indicating left / right.
Monitors and ensures the safety and comfort of the patient during exams.
On-Call Availability: Must accept on call assignments for regularly scheduled shifts and be available to report to facility within 30 minutes of notification. This status will be determined by technologist on duty.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Two (2) year certificate, associate degree and/or baccalaureate degree.
Licenses: Current Radiation Operator Certificate. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
