How you'll contribute

A Senior Laboratory Assistant who excels in this role:

  • Performs phlebotomy duties.

  • Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing and transporting specimens.

  • Maintains adequate stock of supplies.

  • Maintains work area in a safe, aseptic and organized manner.

  • Performs clerical duties including answering phones, data entry, and filing.

  • Communicates test results to appropriate healthcare providers.

What we're looking for
Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional requirements include:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy including closely monitoring all aspects of the job and continually checking processes and tasks is required. Must possess accurate keyboarding skills and the ability to do data entry in a fast paced environment.
  • Basic math, interpretive and analytical skills are required. Information collection and management, attention to detail, along with the ability to work under pressure are required in this position. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
