Position Summary: 

A Senior Sonographer performs Echocardiographic and other diagnostic cardiology procedures and is directly responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Cardiology operations. 

  • Performs standard and advanced cardiography and vascular procedures such as graded exercise testing, echocardiography (2D/M Mode/Color Flow/Doppler), transesophageal examinations (TEE), EKG tracings, and treadmill stress testing. 

  • Provides emotional support, comfort, general assistance and information to patients. 

  • Coordinates or collaborates with physicians and nursing staff. 

  • Maintains, calibrates and performs quality control checks on equipment. 

  • Performs associated clerical and coordination activities including scheduling, charging, and sending/storing data. 

  • Documents tasks and results to the patient record. 

  • Assists MD with daily flow of clinic patients obtaining vital signs, ht, wt, etc. 

  • Aids in the administrative operations of the department including budget, equipment, class schedules, planning, and services. 

  • Directs assigned personnel including interviewing, orienting, training and scheduling staff. 

  • Participates in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures. 

  • Ensures that records, reports, forms, logs, patient charges and other documentation are properly prepared, processed and maintained. 

  • Demonstrates working knowledge of clinical and exercise equipment. 

  • Assists and coordinates the daily flow of patients needing stress testing, echocardiograms, and tee/cardioversions. 

  • Evaluates patient care outcomes and participates in quality assurance and quality improvement activities. 

  • Coordinates special projects and events for the customers and community regarding our programs 

 

 

What We Are Looking For: 

  • Two years of college: Associate's degree Required;  

  • Graduate of a CAAHEP/JRC-DMS approved School of Cardiac or Vascular Sonography or an AAS degree in Radiologic Science or other healthcare related degree with appropriate credential. 

  • Radiologic Technologist or Technician.  

  • The applicant must be in good standing with ARMDS or CCT  

  • Have 1-2 years of professional in-hospital echocardiogram experience. 

  • BLS required
