Schedule: this is a PRN position that will work on an as-needed basis.

How you'll contribute
A Sonographer who excels in this role performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasonographic procedures. Additional responsibilities include:
Receives patients, explains method of procedure and makes sure patients are comfortable.
Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.
Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.
Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth.
Checks the physician's requisition for complete information on the procedure requested; refers any questions to the ultrasound physician before performing the procedure.
Assists the radiologist/referring physician in invasive procedures using sterile technique while maintaining infection control guidelines.
Recognizes the significance of all structures that are visualized on the monitor and can differentiate artifacts from anatomic/pathologic structures within equipment limitations.

What we're looking for
Applicants should have an associate degree in a related field. Additional requirements include:
Licenses: ARDMS registered or if new graduate, must be ARDMS eligible and pass a test in at least one area (i.e. Abdomen, OBGYN) including physics within one year of employment. Must hold a New Mexico license to practice as a Sonographer.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
