How you'll contribute:
A Certified Sterile Processing Manager who excels in this role: 

 

1. Oversees personnel engaged in processing, decontaminating, sterilizing, and delivering a wide variety of patient care items and surgical instruments according to established policies and procedures.
2. Coordinates, develops, and maintains functions of Central Sterile with all user departments.
3. Maintains proper storage and adequate inventory of designated surgical instrumentation.
4. Monitors equipment distribution and maintains accurate records.
5. Inspects area daily and takes corrective action when situations do not meet standards or requirements.
6. Ensures maintenance of established quality assurance program standards by performing item sterilization tests, interpreting data and graphs, and verifying correct operation of sterilizers.
7. Oversees and assists with decontamination and sterilization of reusable equipment returned from user departments.
8. Ensures that department policies are reviewed annually and updated at least every three years or as necessary.
9. Reviews sterilization records for accuracy and completeness.
10. Identifies issues and initiates process changes in collaboration with the OR Manager.
11. Actively participates in committees to improve patient care.
12. Actively participates in additional assignments within the department.
13. Acts as mentor and preceptor for new personnel.
14. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

What we're looking for:

• Minimum three (3) years in a central processing department or equivalent, including extensive knowledge of surgical instruments, supplies, decontamination, and sterilization techniques. Previous leadership experience preferred.
• IAHCSMM Certification and/or CBSPD certification - Required
• License: Central Processing Specialty Certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Preferred
• Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking preferred. 
• Ability to work with culturally diverse population.
