Position Summary
Dialysis Tech will be responsible for preparing and operating dialysis machines, monitoring patients throughout treatment, and ensuring safe and effective care for individuals with kidney failure.
Essential Functions:
* Prepare dialysis equipment and ensure it is functioning correctly before each treatment.
Perform patient assessments before, during, and after dialysis treatment.
Monitor vital signs and patient reactions, reporting any abnormalities to the nurse or physician.
Initiate, monitor, and terminate dialysis treatment as prescribed
* Maintain accurate patient records and treatment logs.
Clean, disinfect, and maintain dialysis equipment and treatment areas.
Follow infection control and safety protocols strictly.
Provide emotional support and education to patients about the dialysis process and care.
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications and requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an approved Dialysis Technician training program.
- Previous dialysis experience preferred but not required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 60 days of hire.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
