Position Summary:
The IT & Systems Technician is responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for computer systems, hardware, and software across the facility. This role ensures reliable system performance, supports end users, and helps maintain secure and efficient IT operations in a healthcare environment. The technician will troubleshoot issues, install and configure equipment, and assist in maintaining network infrastructure and clinical systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 1-3 years of IT support or help desk experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, and basic networking concepts
- Experience with hardware troubleshooting, system installations, and user support
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide day-to-day technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, and peripheral devices
- Troubleshoot system and application problems, ensuring timely resolution
- Maintain user accounts, permissions, and access controls
- Support clinical systems and ensure uptime for critical healthcare applications
- Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and backups
- Document incidents, resolutions, and system changes accurately
- Assist with network monitoring and basic infrastructure support
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational data security policies
Non-Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with IT projects, upgrades, and system implementations
- Provide basic training and guidance to staff on IT systems and tools
- Participate in on-call rotation or after-hours support as needed
- Support inventory management of IT equipment and supplies
