Position Summary
- Provides administrative support for scheduling, admitting, medical records, discharge planning, and secretarial functions for the department.
- Functions in a multi-skilled environment require strong customer service and clerical skills while supporting patient-related activities as needed.
Reports to: Director of Bariatric Services

Minimum Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Associate's degree Preferred
License
N/A
Certifications
None required; Basic Life Support (BCLS) preferred.
Minimum Work Experience
Previous clerical, administrative, or healthcare support experience preferred.

- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills required.
Essential Functions
- Greet patients, families, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Answer, screen, and route incoming telephone calls appropriately.
- Initiate codes, paging requests, and overhead announcements as needed.
- Enter nursing requests with licensed nurse approval and seek clarification when necessary.
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges; assemble and maintain patient records and charts.
- Perform clerical duties such as copying, filing, and ordering/stocking supplies.
- Support RNs and physicians with patient-related activities as needed.
- Follow patient safety protocols, including restraints, seizure precautions, and fall precautions.
- Assist with safe patient transport in accordance with established procedures.
- Support discharge planning by gathering information, communicating with agencies, and scheduling procedures.
- Schedule admissions, create reservations, and assign beds in the system as appropriate.
- Respond to patient call lights, triage routine versus urgent needs, and assist licensed staff and CNAs as directed.
- Perform guest relations duties, including arranging trays, securing valuables, providing consent forms, and coordinating family accommodations.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
- Maintain regular and dependable attendance.

Physical Requirements
