Position Summary
The Front Desk / Unit Clerk serves as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring a professional, efficient, and welcoming experience. This role performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties to support daily clinic operations, including patient intake, scheduling, communication, and record management.
Bilingual candidates, particularly those fluent in Spanish, are strongly preferred to support diverse patient populations and enhance patient experience.
Essential Functions
- Greet and check in patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
- Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
- Assist with patient registration, insurance verification, and demographic updates
- Support patient admissions, transfers, and discharges as applicable
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records and documentation
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff regarding patient flow and needs
- Process clerical requests, including copying, scanning, filing, and faxing
- Order, stock, and maintain office supplies as needed
- Assist providers, nurses, and staff with administrative support tasks
- Facilitate communication for Spanish-speaking patients when applicable
