How you'll contribute:

Performs a variety of tasks requiring prioritization and discretion. Greets patients, visitors and others and provides information to them. Participates in ensuring patient's comfort and personal care activities. May performs variety of clinic activities such as scheduling, insurance verification, balancing of co-pay money and balancing of daily or weekly deposits. Interfaces with physicians and other staff on a regular basis. May do limited coding and/or charge entry. Performs various other administrative duties as needed.

  • Manage and maintain daily schedules; notify staff of changes.
  • Process patient through Check-In and Out; Obtain and verify most current patient information
  • Obtain and scan insurance/Rx cards into EMR system; Verify insurance eligibility.
  • Collect co-pays and monies owed. Complete Payment Plans as necessary.
  • Reconcile payment batches and other end of day tasks as assigned
  • Answer phone calls within 3 rings and route to the appropriate individuals. 
  •  Other duties as assigned

     

 

What we're looking for:

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical office functions, Medicare, Medicaid and insurance guidelines preferred.
  • One year relevant experience in a clinic setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills including ability to relate well with a variety of people and to sustain an attitude of respect for all individuals.
  • Commitment to the team problem-solving approach using a patient-focused model.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
