Schedule: .8 FTE, 32 hours week/ Varied Shifts 

On call and weekend rotation

How you'll contribute 

An Xray Technician III who excels in this role:

 

  • Performs mammography exams in accordance with department protocols and procedures and within National Standard

  • time frames.

  • Performs mammography quality control and quality assurance functions required for mammography.

  • Receives patients, explains method of procedure and makes sure patients are comfortable.

  • Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.

  • Operates radiology equipment to perform clinical diagnostic radiology exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.

  • Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.

  • Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth.

  • Follows established policies and procedures, objectives, safety standards, and sensitivity to confidential information.

  • Willing and able to demonstrate appropriate core competencies annually or as requested.

  • Performs all general radiography procedures associated with the department, including development of films and preparation of contrast media, as appropriate.

  • Performs nuclear medicine procedures in compliance with departmental procedures and in compliance with all regulations of the National Regulatory Agency associated with NRC.

  • Performs all quality assurance protocols associated with equipment and radionuclides.

  • Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with department protocols and procedures and within

  • Performs CT examinations in accordance with departmental procedures within National Standard Time frames.

  • Performs CT quality control and quality assurance functions required for CT examinations.

  • Orients patients to procedure, obtains patient history and verifies that informed consent is signed.

  • Transports patients to and from department.

What we're looking for:

  • Graduate of AMA approved school of radiological technology.

  • Required: AART Registered or eligible. Primary Source Verification: American Registry for Radiologic Technologists.

  • Certification in Ultrasound, CT, Mammography, and Dexascan.

  • Additional Training in Nuclear Medicine preferred

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
