Westpark Springs is a mental health and addiction treatment center located at 6902 S Peek Road in Richmond, Texas. It offers both inpatient and outpatient services for adults, adolescents, and children dealing with psychiatric, substance use, or co-occurring disorders.

• Comprehensive Programs: Includes inpatient psychiatric care, detox services, and outpatient options like Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).

• Dual Diagnosis Expertise: Focuses on treating individuals with both mental health and substance use disorders through evidence-based therapies.

How you'll contribute: 

Performs structured evaluations and develops a treatment plan in conjunction with primary care counselor using therapeutic, recreational, and leisure activities.
Essential Functions
Conducts assessment and establishes recreational therapy treatment goals and objectives to meet the individual needs of patients.
Evaluates each patient's progress and the effectiveness of recreational therapy interventions.
Coordinates therapeutic recreation activities for both large and small groups to observe patient response and encourage socialization.
Provides patient and patient's family with information regarding leisure life styles and creates an awareness of recreational resources in their community.

Qualifications and requirements:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy
License: Current Recreational Therapist to practice in the state of TX; Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
Certifications: N/A
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
