How you'll contribute
The Assessment Specialist - facilitates the intake and assessment process for individuals seeking behavioral health or medical services. Responsibilities include conducting initial evaluations, assessing patient symptoms, functioning, and care needs, and providing clinical data to physicians for level-of-care determinations. The Assessment Specialist coordinates referrals, admissions, and follow-up activities while ensuring compliance with EMTALA and emergency detention protocols. This role requires strong clinical judgment, documentation skills, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service to patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

What we're looking for
- Master's degree in social work or counseling required.
- Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric patients preferred.
- Must have strong clinical assessment skills.
- Current unencumbered clinical social work, counseling license, or per state of practice guidelines.
- Candidate may be under supervision for licensure.
- CPR and Handle with Care certified within 30 days.
