Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)

Location: Highland Springs in Highland Hills, OH

Hours per week: 36

Schedule: 7:00am-7:30pm, every other weekend rotation

How You'll Contribute

  • Assist patients with performing activities of daily living
  • Provide or assist with providing patient care, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions
  • Observe and record patient behavior and activities
  • Report on changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing staff
  • Suggest modifications to treatment plan as needed

Essential Functions

  • Observes and monitors patient's status according to patient monitoring standards, policies, and procedures. This may include vital signs, weight log, intake and output, dietary intake, 15-minute rounds, admission checklists, etc.
  • Provides verbal and written input to nursing staff via ongoing reporting and end of shift report so patient needs are prioritized
  • Demonstrates proficiency and skill in providing care to patients
  • Ensures that they are interacting with patients on the unit consistently
  • Provides timely and accurate information on patient behavior and progress to the interdisciplinary team

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1 year of behavioral health experience preferred
  • BLS Certification required
  • CNA license preferred
