Position Summary:
Sovah Martinsville is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Monitor Tech -Night shift to provide services to ensure a safe environment for psychiatric patients in a locked inpatient unit setting.
- Performs continual surveillance of behavioral health unit monitors and operates the patient-monitoring system.
- Monitors dining/day rooms, and hallways on Behavioral Health when occupied by patients to assure patient safety in the environment.
- Monitors patients for suspicious behavior indicating the possibility of self-harm.
- Reports incidents, utilizes nursing staff for concerns, discusses recent issues, and any pertinent patient details with the covering/on-coming behavioral health monitor technician.
- Recognizes patient behaviors in the dining/dayroom and hallway environment that may result in an unsafe situation.
Minimum Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Required Skills:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Required Certifications/Licenses:
AHA BLS required.
