Position Summary:

This position is on-site

The Coder is a non-exempt position responsible for performing ICD-10-CM and CPT coding on all physician clinic billing within one day of service via Athena.  They optimize coding on all charts and maintain general knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and HMO contracts, policies, and procedures for billing and collections.  The Coder files claims electronically and monitors the transmission of claims daily, ensuring timely follow-up on all claims either by phone, remote, or Internet.  They analyze payment remittances and errors for all payers, making adjustments or corrections to a patient's account as needed.  Additionally, the Coder reports trends for key performance indicators such as aging, days, and cash posting on clinic accounts, meets the required collection goal for the clinic, and ensures timely filing.  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required 
  • Certified Coder Certification required
