LifePoint Health is committed to providing compassionate care and building healthier communities. As an AVP of Workers' Compensation, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees across all LifePoint facilities.

In this role, you'll oversee, develop, and manage our workers' compensation program with the goal of promoting a culture of safety and support. From ensuring compliance with state-specific laws to collaborating with legal partners, you'll be at the forefront of protecting our most valuable asset – our people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with state-specific workers' compensation laws in all states where LifePoint operates.
  • Settlement Evaluation: Evaluate cases for potential settlement and provide guidance to our third-party administrators to negotiate settlements.
  • Legal Collaboration: Work closely with multiple attorneys in the defense or resolution of claims, ensuring effective management of legal processes.
  • Education and Training: Educate hospital personnel on workers' compensation, employee safety, and reporting requirements, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Claims Management: Collaborate with third-party administrators to ensure claims are handled in a timely manner and reserves are properly established.
  • File Reviews: Conduct quarterly file reviews with our third-party administrators 
  • Loss Prevention: Conduct assessments at hospitals experiencing a high frequency of claims, proactively addressing potential risks and hazards.
  • Due Diligence: Participate in the due diligence process for potential acquisitions, ensuring workers' compensation considerations are addressed.
  • Collaborative Efforts: Work with other members of the health support center to achieve desired results in the workers' compensation program.

This position offers the opportunity to make a difference both internally and externally, serving our co-workers, customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors. You'll have access to sensitive and confidential information, requiring a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance standards.


  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years related experience, with union awareness preferred.
