  • Uses knowledge of different faiths to meet various religious beliefs/needs, lead prayers, and answer spiritual questions.
  • Actively provides delivery of spiritual support and guidance to patients/families.
  • Protects patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
  • Acts as a liaison between the hospital and community.
  • Keeps records of pastoral/spiritual activities to communicate with other members of the department and administration as needed.
  • Authors and co-authors materials relevant to spiritual care and pastoral education.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in religion, divinity, or theology; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: 2-5 years of experience as a clergy or chaplain. Experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
License: Valid driver’s license.
Additional Requirements: CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment. May be required to work flexible hours.
