Position Summary:

Sovah Health in Danville, VA. is seeking a Full Time Cardiovascular Technician to join our night shift (7p - 7a & EOW). 

The Cardiac Tech will: 

  • Under the supervision of an RN, perform telemetry monitoring. 
  • Perform continual surveillance of multiple monitors and operate the patient-monitoring computer.
  • Obtain patient information for the telemetry records, such as heart rhythm history.
  •  Measure, records and interprets heart rhythms and identifies abnormalities.
  • Recognize changes in heart rhythms and relay the information to a nurse or physician.
  •  Identify significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervene appropriately.
  • Test equipment for proper working order and report any equipment problems to supervisor.

 


Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Required Skills

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Requires flexibility in scheduling with the ability to work all shift patterns including weekends and holidays to ensure continuity of care and nursing coverage to the patients of Sovah Health Danville on all units.

Certifications

  • American Heart Association HeartSaver CPR required.
