Position Summary:     

Sovah Danville is seeking a full-time Cardiac Technician-Night shift under the supervision of an RN, to perform telemetry monitoring. 

  • Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors and operates the patient-monitoring computer.
  • Obtains patient information for the telemetry records, such as heart rhythm history.
  • Measures, records, and interprets heart rhythms and identifies abnormalities.
  • Recognizes changes in heart rhythms and relays the information to a nurse or physician.
  • Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
  • Test equipment for proper working order and report any equipment problems to the supervisor.

Minimum Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Required Skills:
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  •  Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

    Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including weekends and holidays to ensure continuity of care and appropriateness of nursing coverage to the patients of Sovah Health Danville on all units.
Required Certifications/Licenses:
  • American Heart Association HeartSaver CPR required within 8 weeks of hire.
