Position Summary

 

Sovah Health is looking for the ideal candidate who performs various clerical activities within the HIM Department to include medical record assembly. analysis (front and back end), imaging activities, filing and re-filing of medical records and generation of medical record reports. 

·         Analyzes the assembled record for chart completion deficiencies, in accordance with regulatory requirements and medical staff rules and regulations.

·         Ensures any deficiencies are assigned to the appropriate medical staff member and data is entered for tracking and monitoring purposes.

·         Reviews documentation and updates or clears the deficiencies as appropriate.

·         Responsible for answering telephone calls and assisting visitors (including but not limited to physicians, patients, and their family members), while maintaining confidentiality.


Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent required

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including week-ends and holidays to insure appropriateness and continuity of care for the patients of Sovah Health Danville.

Minimum Work Experience

Minimum two (2) years of health information management (HIM) or equivalent clerical experience required.

Previous HIM, clerical healthcare or Unit secretary experience preferred.
