Position Summary:
Sovah Health is looking for the ideal candidate who will under the supervision of a licensed, practicing physician with medical staff privileges, observes and provides medical services within scope of practice to patients in an assigned area.
•    Participates in the clinical evaluation and care of patients in a variety of patient care settings in order to achieve the competencies required by the residency program.
•    Communicates with the attending physician regarding the results of evaluations, physical examinations, interpretation of diagnostic tests, and intended/performed interventions
•    Participates in the case management of his/her patients, to include documentation of procedures such as progress notes, chart dictations, treatments or special diagnostic procedures, on the record describing the patient’s clinical, under the direct supervision of the attending physician.
•    Participates in research programs and educational presentations as required by residency program.
•    Participates in clinical rotations, as well as, outpatient office practice sessions, under supervision.
•    Works effectively in various healthcare delivery settings and systems relevant to clinical specialty. 


Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Education
Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or Doctor of Medicine required by July 1.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including week-ends and holidays to insure continuity of care and appropriateness of medical coverage to the patients of Sovah Health Danville on all units.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA) required by July 1 of current year
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association (AHA) required by July 1 of the current year
Licenses:
Virginia Intern/Resident Training License required by July 1 of current year.
Successful completion of the COMLEX I, COMLEX II-CE and COMLEX II-PE Board Examinations required
