The Director, State Governmental Relations is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the company's state government relations program and developing strategies to maintain a favorable environment for the healthcare industry.
How you'll contribute
A Director, State Governmental Relations who excels in this role will:
Develop and implement state legislative priorities and strategies in compliance with Lifepoint strategies
Direct communication and coordination with the appropriate Division Presidents to ensure that government relations efforts and activities support and enhance operational goals
Direct supervision and management of state lobbyists (contractors)
Serve as liaison and primary contact with key state healthcare trade associations to ensure the company's views and priorities are represented
Develop and manage key state legislative issues by soliciting analysis of legislative, regulatory proposals from appropriate company departments and personnel
Coordinate the company's grassroots call to action program to ensure the views and priorities of the company are appropriately communicated to various state legislative bodies and trade associations
Manage political action committees
Regular and reliable attendance
Perform other duties as assigned

What we're looking for
Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred
Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience with 5 years in a government relations department, an elected official's office, or managing political campaigns.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 25-50% of the time
