How you'll contribute
An Echocardiology Technician who excels in this role:
- Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
- Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes the work area.
- Receives patients, explains the method of procedure, and makes sure the patient is comfortable.
- Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.
- Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound, and keeps patient flow smooth.
- Assures appropriate orders are obtained and followed during the performance of all procedures.
- Verifies patient identification before performing any procedure.

What we're looking for
High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of a Program in Radiologic Technology or Sonographic Technology required.
Additional requirements include:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- American Radiologic Diagnostic Medical Sonography Registry (ARDMS) required within one year of hire.
*Cardiac Sonographer I - Certified in either Adult Echocardiographer (AE) or Vascular Technology (VT)*
*Cardiac Sonographer II - Certified in both Adult Echocardiographer (AE) or Vascular Technology (VT)* - Knowledgeable of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
- Job may require 1 to 6 months of on-the-job training to develop expertise and familiarization with equipment.
