How you'll contribute
An Environmental Surgery Technician who excels in this role:
- Consistently cleans OR suites with proper technique in an efficient manner to maintain turnover time of 20-30 minutes depending on the type of surgical case.
- The Environmental Surgery Technician will be responsible for transporting patients, cleaning OR suites, assisting with surgical instrument cleaning, putting supplies away, stocking OR suites, handling specimens and blood products and departmental cleaning of OR, PACU, Pre-op and surrounding contained areas.
- Demonstrates ability to complete assigned ongoing projects and tasks within a reasonable timeframe.
- Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to adjust immediate task completion with sudden emergency or stat situations without complaint.
- Demonstrates ability to perform duties with little or no direct supervision in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates ability to work in a manner that achieves maximum productivity and efficiency.
- Accurately reports any unfinished tasks to next shift any unfinished or incomplete tasks or assignments.
- Transports blood/ blood products and specimens as directed by licensed personnel.
- Runs errands as requested by management.
- Transports trash and linen to appropriate external location for future interaction.
- Demonstrates consistent availability of supplies in each restroom area.
- The EVT will work in coordination with other team members and take direction from management and other staff members

What we're looking for
The requirements listed below are below representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent- Required
- Two years of college - Preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS)- Required
- Skills- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
