Directs the activities and resources for Respiratory, Polysomnography, Cardiographics and Cardio Rehab departments to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.

Reports to: Assistant Administrator

Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical,
administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
Performs direct patient care duties within scope of licensure, if necessary

Minimum Education
Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy - Required
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy - Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration/Management or related field - Required, if Respiratory Therapy degree is Associate's level
Candidates holding a Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy are considered with agreement to complete Bachelors degree within agreed upon time-frame.
Minimum Education
Master's degree in Business or Healthcare Administration/Management - Preferred
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Required Skills
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required within 30 days of hire, if not current upon hire.
Required Skills
Licenses: State of Tennessee Registered Respiratory Therapist license with ABG endorsement - Required
State of Tennessee Certified Respiratory Therapist license with ABG endorsement - Considered with agreement to obtain Registered Respiratory Therapist license within 1 year of start date in position
Minimum Work Experience
Minimum 5 years clinical experience as Respiratory Therapist - Required
Minimum 2 years Management/Leadership experience - Required
