Receives patients, explains method of procedure and makes sure patient is comfortable.
Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.
Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.
Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth.
Assists cardiologist with interventional procedures as ordered. (eg; Echo Bubble studies, Stress Echo scans, Transesophageal Echos, etc)
Minimum EducationAssociate’s Degree Preferred
Graduate of a Program in Echo/Vascular Technology: Required
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Required SkillsCertifications:Must be board eligible or board certified in one of the following within 1 year of hire:American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT Sonography (S)Vascular Sonography (VS)ARRT (R) with a KY LicenseRegistered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)Cardiovascular Credentialing International Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS)Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS)
Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
