Central Carolina Medical Group has 13 physician practices comprising of primary care, cardiology, general surgery, urology, orthopedics and sports medicine, and pulmonology. We employ more than 30 providers, and we are growing to better serve the needs of the residents of Lee County and beyond. How you'll Contribute
The Health Information Management Clerk assists in administering health information services consistent with accreditation and regulatory standards and facility standards. Implements P&Ps for documenting, storing and retrieving information, processing medical legal documents, insurance data, and correspondence requests. Maintains patient medical records and ensures accurate documentation per requirements.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Responsible for processing requests for health information (medical records) in a timely manner and ensuring accuracy in the release of records.
- Responds to telephone, email, and facsimile inquiries.
- Validates requests and authorizations for release of information according to company procedures and HIPAA regulations.
- Work collaboratively with hospital departments to process all revisions and requests for medical records.
- Maintains patient medical records and ensures accurate documentation per requirements.
- Monitors medical record chart completion, data accuracy and completeness.
- Ensures HIPAA guidelines are followed.
