Schedule: Full Time : Monday - Friday : 7am to 3:30pm

How you'll contribute
A Health Information Management Technician who excels in this role:
Analyzes the assembled record for chart completion deficiencies, in accordance with regulatory requirements and medical staff rules and regulations.
Ensures any deficiencies are assigned to the appropriate medical staff member and data is entered for tracking and monitoring purposes.
Reviews documentation and updates or clears the deficiencies as appropriate.
Responsible for answering telephone calls and assisting visitors (including but not limited to physicians, patients, and their family members), while maintaining confidentiality.Retrieves, logs, prints medical records as requested by physician offices, patients, other hospitals and other entities as needed.
Notify Director of any outstanding records, issues with equipment, processes or other job concerns.
Take on-call rotation for retrieval of records, fax transfer records, pull power of attorney papers, etc.
Assists with other HIM daily functions.
Works closely with physicians and ensures they are set up to dictate into the system.
Trains physicians/APRNs to dictate and e-sign dictation and orders.
Ensures completion of records for joint commission standards.
Works the hold queue for the dictation system.
Works the hold queue for the dictation system.
Makes physicians aware of late dictations, updates and cut-off dictation.
Data entry for still births.
Review and comply with LifePoint Code of Conduct and all relevant Company and Division policies and procedures.

What we're looking for
An ideal candidate for this position will have critical thinking skills, exercise decisive judgment, and be able to work with minimal supervision. They must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous hospital or medical clinic experience is preferred.
- Experience in release of information practices is preferred.
