How you will contribute 

An Infection Preventionist who excels in this role:

• Coordinates the development and evaluation of the organization's infection prevention and control strategies, policies, and planning.

• Collects and performs statistical analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of healthcare associated infection data, including risk assessment, surveillance priorities, and outcomes analysis.

• Monitors local, state, and federal regulations and ensures compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies' standards and requirements.

• Assists with the development of Infection Prevention educational resources and initiatives.

• Monitors research and developments in the field of infection prevention and control to identify best practices.

• Membership in either APIC (Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology) or SHEA (Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America)

What we are looking for

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in either Nursing, Applied Science, Medical Technology, Microbiology, Epidemiology or another related field. Master's Degree (Preferred)

 

Additional requirements include:

• State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License (preferred) 

• Certified Infection Control (CIC) within 2 years of hire/transfer

• 2 years of healthcare related experience.
