Renders nursing care in assigned area in terms of individualized client needs, according to dependent and independent nursing functions and conformance with recognized nursing technique, procedures, and established standards based on the scope of practical nursing, under the direction/delegation of the clinic management team and of the registered nurse and/or provider

Follows established policies and procedures, objectives, safety standards, and sensitivity to confidential information

Performs general nursing care. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.

Aids the provider during patient examination, testing, and treatment.

Maintains timely flow of patient appointments.

Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination. Screens patients for appropriate information and documents all information in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.

Arranges for patient testing and procedures and instructs the patient in these procedures as appropriate.

Assists providers with direct patient care, examinations, and treatment plans.

Prepares patients and assists providers with minor medical procedures.

Performs nursing procedures under provider's direction.

Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls.

Instructs patients and/or family members regarding the medical condition of the patient, including medication and treatment.

Coordinates patient care with other departments within Bell and with other community health care agencies.

Prepares exam rooms and treatment areas, including the re-stocking of all appropriate supplies.

Attends required meetings and in-services and maintains an active professional license.

Completes annual educational requirements.

Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Support the culture of service excellence throughout the organization.

Actively seeks ways to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and participates in professional development opportunities.

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

 

Computer and/or keyboarding skills required.

Exceptional human relations skills, effective oral, listening and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills with customers of various backgrounds.

Excellent organizational abilities.

Demonstrated teamwork skills.

Ability to deal with change.

Demonstrates a positive attitude towards initiating continuous improvement.

Ability to respond appropriately even in challenging situations.

Ability to work without direct supervision.

Knowledge of examination, diagnostics, and treatment room procedures.

Knowledge of patient education principles and self management techniques

Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions.

Skill in administering a variety of treatments and medications.

Skill in measuring vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, pain assessment, and pulse oximetry.

Ability to recognize issues and identify solutions.

 


Minimum Education Graduate of a Program in Discipline

Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications:  Basic Life Support (BLS) Licenses: Valid state license to practice practical nursing or CMA certification 

Minimum Work Experience: Preferred: One year of prior experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse or CMA
